The Southers Loving Estate - Sept 20-22, 2018 - Pensacola, FL

The Estate Sale of
Phyllis and Bob Southers being held at there Cottage on Gibbs Rd.
The best way to describe this beautiful couple is to have you read there obituary. A touching story
Robert Olin Southers Phyllis Southers
Robert “Bob” Olin Southers, 90, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Bob was born in Opelika, AL on November 7, 1927. His wife Phyllis Southers 90, of Pensacola, FL passed away Friday, July 13, 2018. Phyllis was born October 22, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York. They were married in Opelika, Alabama, on September 13, 1946, just two months shy of 72 years ago.
Bob was a WWII veteran who served on the USS Sturgis during his tenure in the Navy. Towards the end of his overseas deployment, he met the love of his life, “Phil”. The sailor from Alabama was swept off his feet at the first sight of the USO girl from Brooklyn. After a brief courtship, Phyllis joined Bob in Opelika where they were married and lived for sixteen years before moving to Pensacola.
Phyllis was a stay at home mom and wife throughout the duration of their marriage. Bob worked for Coca-Cola in Opelika and later American Cyanamid in Milton, FL. After he retired from Cyanamid in 1989, the pair were rarely apart. Later in life, he became her eyes and she became his purpose. As always, they needed each other to be complete. As Bob’s health began to decline, Phyllis was adamant that she did not want to be with out her Bob. She would pray each night for both of them to somehow be taken together. Bob was equally sure that he would not last long without his darling Phyllis.
In July their prayers were answered and their love story came to an earthly end. Their legacy is a true testament to what love and marriage should be for all generations. They were inseparable in life and because of their personal relationship with Jesus, they are now inseparable in eternity.
We are so grateful for their example and influence in our lives.
The home is definitely a blast from the past.
