I try to include a little information about the person or people I’m doing the sale for.

In this case, the sale we are doing is A Living Estate Sale. Which means the people are still around and, in this case, living full lives.

They are moving and have decided to let go of some of the past. Not the memories, but some of the material things that are cluttering their lives.

This couple is about to embark on a whole new Chapter in their lives together. So they are clearing out what they can, to have room for what is to come their way.

I asked the lady of the house what she wanted to tell me about herself, and she proceeded to tell me about

When she was a Dance Instructor.

And this is what she said:



Nothing I did was ever risqué, which was why I performed a lot for Turkish-American and Arabic-American audiences. Grandma's always loved me.

Typically considered American Cabaret, which has absorbed cultural stylings, history, and music, primarily from the Middle East, North Africa, Greece, and Turkey.

Things were different when moving to the South in 1980. Access to authentic live music wasn't available unless I went to Houston. But because I was what they called Sweet, " I did a lot of restaurant dancing for audiences of all ages and nationalities.

Such good times. While I was in LA, even in my early 50's, I was still restaurant dancing every Saturday night. Taught at Universities and schools in NY and LA.

While in Louisiana, our dance studio troupe performed at the LA Ren Fest from 2001-2006. They still wanted us, but it was too much organizing work for the studio owner. So I became the Cookie Lady from the 2007 season until 2012. It became too much traveling after Otto and I were married.
